The Possessed Hatchet is a , post- -type
that flies extremely fast and homes in on , then returns to the player. It also emits a good deal of light when thrown. It has a 1/8 (12.5%) chance to be dropped from the . The weapon acts similarly to stacked , capable of throwing out multiple hatchets even though the weapon cannot stack. There is no limit to the number of hatchets that can be out at once.
The Possessed Hatchet has an extremely short range, and will home in on any enemy. When it has no enemy to home in on, the Hatchet returns to the player after flying a relatively short distance of only 25 tiles.
Due to the weapon being fast and is capable of throwing multiple axes, this weapon can be spammed and be quite effective against certain bosses, especially .
It can also counter
since it always targets the tail and can take it out in a few hits.
In the console version, the weapon has no autoswing, significantly reducing its usefulness.

When a nail hits an , it sticks to it. It deals low damage on impact, but explodes after roughly 2 seconds, dealing massive damage. The nails also stick to surfaces and explode in the same manner. The explosion does not damage the shooter. Nails are unaffected by gravity until they have flown roughly 30 blocks, at which point they fly with an arc similar to that of an arrow. If used in , the nails will not stick to players and will instead deal damage somewhere in between the initial damage and the explosion's damage.
The Nail Gun deals no .
